D.L. Bliss State Parks Rubicon Trail - Part 4 "Traversing An Ancient Forest"

This would be a good example of early lumbering which took place in the region prior to the parks expansion. Back in the day many parts of the forest surrounding Tahoe have what I call tree stump graveyards. Some of the stumps have a few hundred rings which means this is a very old forest. Eventually nature does bounce back if given the chance and it appears despite the carnage of lumbering so that Carson and Virginia City could thrive. As you can see we are getting much closer to Tahoe the water is blue, clear and you will even get to see one of its many peninsulas from above.
