We visited Monon High Bridge in Delphi, Indiana back in March to pay our respects to Abby and Libby. We really thought this case would be solved by now.
Anyway, while we were there we were astonished to see the carnival atmosphere surrounding the area. There were people everywhere flooding the area. Most were there to show support to the families. Others were there to be tourists.
We had studied the area before going and still we were caught off guard by how isolated this location really is. It was obvious to us this was not a random event and more than likely these girls were targeted and probably had been watched. There is just nothing there at this location. There is a trail, an old bridge and a cemetery.
Whom ever did this and it may be more than one person they knew this area.
Anyway, we walked down the trail to the Monon high bridge and it's a lot higher and longer than we expected. It's also really isolated. What we noticed was the trail leading from the bridge down the steep hill to the cemetery.
This trail would have provided cover for anyone trying to avoid detection. This is the trail we believe the killer took with the girls and not the road below the bridge because it is much more open to the public.
We left this area and walked back the way we came and visited the cemetery where we believe the killer parked his vehicle. (It is also possible that the killer could have parked his vehicle on the farmer's property or inside the barn where it is believed he took the girls.)
Anyway, while we were visiting the crime scene law enforcement arrived and chased us and others away.
