The Standard Mill and Mine produced over One-Hundred million dollars in Gold and Silver. This was the heart of Bodie without the mill and mine Bodie would not have boomed to nearly 12,000 plus residents. Bodie remained a boomtown from about 1878 to 1882 then when the veins began to be depleted the miners moved on to places like the Comstock seeking riches.
