We are on the road to Coaldale Junction a site where an old coal mining town once existed from the 1880's and when the coal was found to be low grade. William Groetzinger found the coal then brought on other investors eventually left to mine on his own even during some efforts to revitalize the town. He lived here for a majority of this life till mining made a transition to tourism. Then came a travel stop which had a motel, cafe, bar, restaurant, garage, casino, laundry mat, bath house, diesel generator building, general store, slot machines for gambling, gas station, trailer park and some homes where employees lived. Unfortunately the gas tanks were leaking underground and the Parsons could not afford to fix them so the property was vacated in 1993. I am going to take you down a lonely desert road a massive snowstorm is following us and will get on out explore this abandoned place which looks like were in a wasteland and the apocalypse has destroyed everything around us. Back in the day when it was abandoned they used it as a movie set for "The Stranger" and eventually vandals, arsonist, squatters and even criminals have likely left this in peril. Just a little over a century this town had 50 residents, post office, market, railroad depot, hotels, saloons, houses, general store, city park, mining offices, stage stop and so much more but today it is all gone!. Were going to try to beat the storm and do some urbexing for those who love this kind of stuff. Will explore the old hotel, cafe, garage, market, homesteads and remnants of the past. Coaldale known as Coal Wells is an eerie location but also this is a place where nobody can hear you scream its extremely desolate which makes it all the more intriguing to explore with three wild teenage boys lol.
