It gets a little confusing as you need to make sure you head south on the Rubicon not north as three is a three way split. In this case we would began our trek southbound on the Rubicon on the western edge of Lake Tahoe. The trail can be unsafe you have massive granite steps, loose rock, avalanche zone area, cliffs, drop offs and places where the trail gets very narrow. All it takes is one mistake so here are some safety tips from your producer Lord Rick to help you become a better adventurer. Heading south does not descend entirely its gradual but there are areas that go uphill also our goal to get to Emerald Point. Although you can only hike here you can drive your jeeps on the eastern edge of Lake Tahoe at another section of the Rubicon Trail.
