The Dutch Flat Chinese Cemetery is hidden in a pine forest consumed by nature and one of the last remaining remnants of Chinatown. The Chinese laborers were lumber jacks, miners and builders of the transcontinental railroad in the region. When old Chinatown burnt down due to arson the new one that was built also became desolate leaving behind this hidden cemetery which is in peril. Many of the graves been exhumed and the bodies were sent back to China while the ones that remained behind are now being consumed by nature. I am sorry the audio starts to mess up near the end of the clip I am not sure why this happened however in this video I take you to some of the first Chinese pioneer grave sites who immigrated to California which helped shape the wild west we have come to know today.
