Established in 1873 this water company built an iron pipeline when the Hobart Reservoir, Martlette and Spooner Lake could be harvested for its water. Due to the heavy growth of the Comstock Lode of Virginia City this state of the art pipeline brought water from the sierras nearly 30 miles over the Virginia Range. Today many sites can be seen left behind from the old waterworks such as pipes, dams and even a monitoring station called Red House which you will see footage of in this series. If you like old rusty things then this really is the clip for you its an awesome site to stumble upon and if you pay attention you will see more of the waterworks along Franktown Creek!
