This is Big Meadow which contains a tributary of the Truckee River thus its stream is flourishing with rainbow trout. Normally the meadow is green and full of wild flowers with butterflies everywhere but not in November. We would have to journey across Big Meadow to get to a smaller trail in the woods which would take us to Lake Dardanelles. As you can see standing in the center of the meadow really gives us great scenic views of the snow capped mountains nearby.
