This is one of many common garter snakes found in the sierras although this one is not venemous it does have a toxin that can make you very sick. This breed of snake is found near water hence why their are so many near Scott's Lake and they can get nearly to 4' in length. This one is a bit more aggressive then the previous ones we have handled and worked with.
