Sarah was a very superstitious woman so more then often she designed the home and its pieces to sustain spiderweb designs or 13 of something. An example of this can be found out in the gardens but its also found throughout the inside of the mansion as well. On Friday the 13th the bell is rung 13 times and still till this day to honor Miss Winchester. The gardens surrounding this location contain all the original statues including the goddess Demeter which graces the homes entrance. Call it an infatuation or perhaps some other symbolic meaning the estate was embedded with 13s and spiderweb patterns like a family crest.
